People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is a platform dedicated to establishing and defending the rights of all animals. PETA operates under the principle that animals are not ours to experiment on, eat, wear, use for entertainment or abuse in any other way. The team behind PETA informs policymakers and the public about animal abuse and promotes kind treatment of animals. PETA is an international non-profit charitable organization based in Virginia with entities worldwide. PETA also offers two youth-oriented platforms, peta2 and PETA Kids, that aim to empower young people to advocate for animal rights through youth-friendly spins on their tools.
