Koz Surfboards is a startup by Thibault Fournel & Pierre Thomas, revolutionizing surfboard construction by offering an experimental eco-friendly, biodegradable surfboard. The creation process starts with combining collected rainwater with mycelium and plant waste in a mold, where the mix grows and takes shape. The resulting structure is then dried and coated with flax fiber and bio-sourced resin for strength and waterproofing. Koz intents to use recycled plastic for its molds and solar energy for the drying process in the future.
