Mayamiko is an ethical, sustainable clothing and lifestyle brand that focuses on locally sourced fabrics, traditional Malawian techniques and zero-waste production. The brand empowers women in Malawi through training and fair wage employment. All products are made with hand-picked materials from the local fabric market or sourced from organic producers, cut and sewn in solar-powered workshops in Malawi and packaged by Mail Out, a social enterprise that supports humans with learning difficulties. Mayamiko offers transparency by adding QR-codes to labels, connecting consumers with creators. Mayamiko offers a range of (mostly vegan) apparel, jewellery, accessories and home decor. The brand is approved by PETA. Most of its items are vegan, some pieces have upcycled silk in them.
